<p>Research aimed to know the effect of reproductive pruning on tuber yield and yield components of 12 winged bean genotypes, was conducted in experimental station of agricultural faculty started from april 2009 until october 2009. Experiment was arranged in randomized block design with split-plot pattern and replicated twice. Main plot was reproductive pruning consisted of two levels namely with (p) and without pruning (np). Whereas, sub plot was 12 winged bean genotypes. Variables observed were tuber length (cm), tuber diameter (cm), tuber volume (ml), tuber weight per plant (g), number of tuber per plant, and tuber weight per plot (kg). Data were analysed using analysis of variance, if there was significant source of variance, analysis was continued with Scott Knott Cluster Analysis for genotype simple effect and LSD for pruning simple effect, with 5% level respectively.</p>
<p>Results showed that there were interaction effect of pruning and genotypes on tuber diameter, number of tuber per plant, and tuber weight per plant. Eventhough singly, pruning didn’t show significant effect on all characters observed, for tuber diameter, number of tuber per plant, and tuber weight per plot, effectivity of pruning was seen on several genotypes. Single effect of genotype was seen on tuber volume and tuber weight per plant. For tuber length, pruning, genotypes and interaction of both, seemed to have no effect on it. Genotypes of 8.20, 8.16, 8.29, 8.10, and 8.6 were potential genotypes for tuber production for they had tuber diameter over 2 cm.</p>

<p>High genetic diversity of crop population is a prerequisite for succesful breeding program. Thus, studies on genetic diversity will be required to explore potential of genetic resources for futher genetic improvement through breeding program. This research aimed to analyze the genetic diversity and relationship of 39 winged bean accessions, was conducted on experimental station belonged to Faculty of agriculture, jatinangor Sumedang, started from november 2008 untill may 2009. The experiment was arranged in simple randomized block design and replicated twice. Treatment were 39 wingedbean accessions  collected from several region in Indonesia, and mostly from java. Characters observed were 21 morpho –agronomic characters of which measurement were referred to winged bean plant descriptor issued by IBPGR. Data were analysed simultenously using multivariate analysis. Principle component analysis was used to reduce variables into new variable which represents total variance. PC score was then used to construct biplot to explain pattern of divergence of 39 accessions. To analysed genetic relationship, cluster analysis using UPGMA method was used.</p>
<p>Based on principal component analysis, total variance of 21 characters could be explained 20,01%, 14,2%, 8,8%, 8,6%, and 7,2% respectively by PC1, PC2, PC3, PC4, and PC5.  Results of cluster analysis informed that there was a considerably large diversity of 39 winged bean accessions. Two clusters were consider to have farthest genetic distance.  Accession Karawang 2 was much differed to other accessions and clustered independently. Accessions which were mostly from  west Java (19 of them) seemed to be located from different cluster and considered to have large diversity. Four accessions from Jogja seemed to show closer relationship (similar) as well as accessions from IITA. Two accessions from Kalimantan were far seperated each other. One representative from Sulawesi were closely related with accession 8.14 from west Java while representative from Sumatera (8.31) was genetically closer with Rancakaso.</p>

<p>Research aimed to know the effect of genotype x saeason interaction on yield components and yield of 22 winged bean genotypes in Jatinangor at two growing seasons and also to obtain genotypes showing best performance in each or both growing season, was conducted  in experimental station of Agricultural Faculty, Padjadjaran University  Jatinangor, started on January untill June 2008 (dry season) and November 2008 untill June 2009 (rainy season). Experiment was arranged in a randomized block design consisted of 22 genotypes as treatment and replicated twice. Characters observed were pod length (cm), pod number per plot, seed number per plot, time to flower (day after planting), 100 seed weight (g) and seed weight per plot (g). Data were analysed by analysis of variance and continued by Scott Knott Test to analyze genotypes effect and LSD tets for seasonal effect, each at significance level of 5%.</p>
<p>Results showed that there was interaction effect of genotype by season on characters of pod length, pod number per plot, and seed weight per plot. In dry season, genotypes having the longest time for flowering were 8.16 and 8.17,  the high seed number per pod were 8.2 and 8.33; the longest pod were 8.5 and  8.3, highest pod number per plot was 8.30, the biggest seed size were 8.11, 8.10, 8.18, 8.13 dan 8.1, and the highest seed yield per plot were 8.10, 8.20, 8.15, 8.6, 8.13, 8.2, 8.30, 8.33, dan 8.29. Whereas in rainy season, no genotypes variation for time to flower, pod length, seed number per pod; highest pod number per plot was 8.30; the biggest seed size were 8.14, 8.3, 8.13, 8.20, dan 8.10; the highest seed yield per plot were 8.20, 8.3, 8.11, 8.14, 8.1, dan 8.6.</p>

<p>Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan deskripsi 12 aksesi garut  lokal asal  Jawa Barat  berdasarkan karakter morfologi dan karakter agronomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 12 aksesi garut asal Jawa Barat koleksi Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman UNPAD berdasarkan 36 karakter morfologi dan agronomi. Percobaan dilakukan pada bulan Mei  2009  sampai dengan Maret 2010. Percobaan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen tanpa rancangan tata  ruang<strong>. </strong>Sampai saat ini belum diketahui keragaman genetik berdasarkan karakter morfologi dan agronomi tanaman garut. Sehingga perlu dilakukan  estimasi keragaman fenotifik berdasarkan karakter morfologi dan agronomi. Berdasarkan uraian di atas, maka diharapkan; terdapat keragaman genetik yang luas dari 12 aksesi plasma nutfah <em>garut </em> asal daerah Jawa Barat dan Jawa Timur berdasarkan karakter morfologi dan agronomi; penampilan fenotipik 12 aksesi garut  di Jatinangor akan berbeda-beda, dan terdapat satu atau lebih genotip genus garut yang penampilannya lebih baik.</p>

<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p>
<p>Genetic relationship from 50 accesion local taro the collection of plant breeding laboratory Agriculture Faculty Padjadjaran University (UNPAD) that become from many area on Sumedang, Bogor, Lembang, Indramayu and around North Coast in West Java, there is identified used 14 morphology character  on vegetative phase.</p>
<p>The design of experiment used was no layout design, which five individual of plant from each accesion are used to be replication. Experiment is done at UNPAD experimental field Ciparanje unit, Kecamatan Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java Province on Mei 2009 until October 2009.</p>
<p>The result of Relationship analysis from dendogram showed indeed the 50 accesion have distance coefficient from 0,000 until 1,360.</p>
<p>This case exhibited close genetic related from that local taro accesions of west java based on 14 morphology character. The genetic relationship also showed has not area specification toward spread certain taro. The research result can be used as basic of genetic diversity germplasm of local taro west java origin recommended for follow up expansion, and for their conservation. How ever this research data still needed supported with another data to advance research, in order getting genetic relation data more accurate.</p>

<p>Kacang panjang merupakan salah satu tanaman sayuran penting di Asia tenggara. Kacang panjang (<em>Vigna unguiculata ssp. sesquipedalis </em>Verdc.) merupakan tanaman sayuran yang berasal dari Asia dan Amerika selatan. Tanaman ini termasuk dalam famili leguminosae (syn. Fabaceae). Memiliki nama sinonim  <em>Dolichos sesquipedalis</em> L., <em>V sesquipedalis</em> Fruwirth., <em>V sinensis ssp. Sesquipedalis</em> (L.) van. Eseltine, <em>V. sinensis Var. sesquipedalis </em>(L.) Aschers. &amp; Sch.Weinf.</p>
<p>Kacang panjang adalah tanaman sayuran jenis kacang-kacangan yang diperlukan oleh masyarakat dalam upaya pemenuhan akan protein nabati. Menurut Setiawan (2006), Selama lima tahun terakhir konsumsi protein penduduk Indonesia telah meningkat dari rata-rata 48,67 gram/kapita/haripada tahun 1999, menjadi 54,65 gram/kapita/hari tahun 2004. Tingginya minat dan permintaan konsumen akan produk tanaman ini tidak diimbangi dengan peningkatan mutu dan produksinya. Untuk meningkatkan dan memperbaiki produksi kacang panjang dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan pemuliaan tanaman. Peningkatan yang dilakukan dapat berupa peningkatan hasil dan kualitas hasil atau penyelarasan karakter agronomis dan morfologis dengan kondisi musim dan agroekosistem yang ada. Genotip-genotip yang akan dikonstruksi dan didisain atas keperluan tersebut didasarkan terhadap penampilan fenotipik yang ada.</p>
<p>Pengujian  interaksi genotip x musim untuk terkait dengan seleksi plasma nutfah potensial. Seleksi awal berdasarkan analisis interaksi genotip x musim pada plasma nutfah, diaharapkan gen-gen yang mengendalikan stabilitas dievaluasi pada tahap awal.   Interaksi genotip x musim didasarkan terhadap penampilan rata-rata genotip di dua musim tanam berdasarkan penampilan fenotipik.</p>
<p>Adanya interaksi genotip x musim akan terkait dengan konstitusi genetik yang akan diuji dan karakteristik dua musim tanam. Tim Pengembangan Penelitian Kacang panjang Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian UNPAD yang diketuai oleh Dr. Agung karuniawan memiliki koleksi plasma nutfah 23 genotip <em>Vigna unguiculata ssp. sesquipedalis</em> lokal yang berasal dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia dengan kondisi agroekosistem asal yang beragam.</p>
<p>Percobaan lapangan telah dilakukan di Ciparanje, Jatinangor, Kab Sumedang, Jawa Barat, dengan ketinggian ±753 meter di atas permukaan laut, dari bulan November 2008 sampai Mei 2009. Percobaan disusun dalam rancangan acak kelompok dengan 23 genotip sebagai perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak dua kali pada dua musim tanam dengan 1 kultivar cek N777. Karakter-karakter yang diamati adalah karakter komponen hasil dan hasil. Data dianalisis dengan analisis varians, dan analisis varians gabungan.</p>
<p>Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi genotip dengan musim bermakna pada  karakter umur berbunga, umur berpolong, panjang daun terminal, lebar daun terminal, jumlah polong/tanaman, panjang biji, lebar biji, bobot 100 biji, bobot biji/plot. Genotip yang memiliki penampilan terbaik yang melebihi kultivar cek untuk karakter panjang polong segar, jumlah polong/tanaman, bobot biji/plot pada musim hujan yaitu Vus 9. Sedangkan genotip terbaik untuk karakter panjang polong segar, jumlah polong/tanaman. Bobot biji/plot pada musim kemarau yaitu Vus 37, Vus 17. Genotip-genotip terbaik dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembentukan populasi baru dalam upaya perakitan kultivar baru berdaya hasil dan kualitas hasil tinggi.</p>

<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>ABSTRAK</strong></p>
<p>Ubi-ubian merupakan salah satu kekayaan sumberdaya nabati Indonesia yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan terutama dalam upaya untuk mewujudkan ketahanan pangan nasional. <em>Amorphopallus spp</em>. Merupakan kelompok tanaman underutilize asli Indonesia. Yuzammi dan Hay (1998) memperkirakan lebih dari 100 jenis yang termasuk ke dalam marga ini. Akantetapi hanya tiga jenis yang baru diketahui telah dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai bahan pangan sumber karbohidrat (glucomannan), yaitu <em>A. phaeoniifolius </em>(sinonim <em>A. campanulatus</em>), <em>A. blumei </em>(sinonim <em>A. muelleri</em>) dan <em>A.</em> <em>Variabilis.</em> sedangkan yang lainnya belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal.</p>
<p>Optimalisasi sumber daya genetik tanaman untuk <em>Amorphopallus </em>terkait dengan ketahanan pangan dapat dilakukan melalui upaya eksplorasi, koleksi dan karakterisasi. Sumatera Barat merupakan salah satu wilayah center of origin untuk tanaman Amorphopallus. Sehingga  studi konservasi dan eksplorasi difokuskan di daerah center of origin.</p>
<p>Penelitian eksplorasi dan koleksi <em>Amorphopallus spp</em>. difokuskan di 7 wilayah utama di provinsi Sumatera Barat, yaitu (1) Lembah Anai, Kabupaten Padang, (2) Sungai Batang Anai, Lembah Anai, Kabupaten Padang, (3) CA Batang Palupuh, Kabupaten Agam, (4) Desa Bukit Ganting, Kayu Tanam, (5) Kecamatan Muaro, Kabupaten Sijunjung, (6) Kecamatan Gunung Talang, Kabupaten Solok, dan (7) Kabupaten Pasaman.</p>
<p>Penelitian meliputi serangkaian kegiatan terdiri dari wawancara dengan penduduk setempat, pengamatan karakter morfologi tanaman yang  meliputi tinggi tanaman, lingkar batang, warna batang, lebar tajuk, warna daun, bentuk daun, warna bunga, panjang bunga, lebar bunga. pengambilan sampel tumbuhan di wilayah target. Pengamatan penunjang meliputi ketinggian tempat, pH tanah, tipe ekosistem, intensitas sinar matahari, serta dokumentasi dari sampel-sampel yang dikoleksi. Penelitian yang akan dilakukan merupakan penelitian status terkini populasi Amorphophallus di Sumatera Barat. Diversity map dan koleksi plasma nutfah merupakan hasil dari penelitian ini.</p>

<p>Bengkuang (<em>Pachyrizhus spp.</em>) termasuk tanaman legum berubi yang berasal dari Amerika Tengah, dan Amerika Selatan. Dari 3 spesies bengkuang budidaya yaitu <em>P. erosus, P. ahipa </em>dan <em>P. tuberosus</em>, yang memiliki sebaran wilayah terluas di Asia Tenggara adalah  jenis <em>P. Erosus. </em>Ubi bengkuang <em>P. Erosus</em> biasanya dikonsumsi dalam bentuk segar, dan sebagai bahan kosmetik asam α-hidroksi (C<sub>19</sub>H<sub>18</sub>O<sub>7</sub>) yang  dapat mencerahkan kulit.</p>
<p>Permasalahan utama pemuliaan tanaman bengkuang <em>P. erosus</em> di Indonesia sebagai sumber pati dan bahan kosmetika adalah sempitnya keragaman genetik, serta tingginya kadar air ubi yang mencapai 78%-94%.  Oleh karena itu telah dilakukan persilangan intraspesifik antara bengkuang <em>P.erosus</em> asal Indonesia dengan leluhurnya dari jenis yang sama asal Mexico untuk meningkatkan keragaman genetik, serta persilangan interspesifik antara <em>P. erosus</em> dengan <em>P. ahipa</em> (asal Peru)<em> </em>dengan kadar air ubi 60%-70% untuk meningkatkan bahan kering ubi. Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman bekerjasama dengan Seed Center Fakultas Pertanian UNPAD sejak tahun 2000 melakukan penelitian bengkuang jangka panjang, dan saat ini memiliki beberapa populasi bengkuang generasi F5 hasil persilangan intraspesifik dan interspesifik yaitu EC 550 x AC 216-139 d, EC 033 x B-56/CJ, AC 216-139 d x B-56/CJ, EC 550 x B-56/CJ, dan AC 216-139 d x EC 550 beserta galur-galur tetuanya yang siap untuk diuji lebih lanjut.</p>
<p>Potensi hasil ubi bengkuang dapat ditingkatkan dengan pemangkasan sink-reproduktif yang bertujuan untuk mengalihkan distribusi asimilat ke ubi sehingga ukuran ubi akan menjadi lebih besar. Namun sejauh ini publikasi ilmiah mengenai bengkuang, baik itu berupa analisis plasma nutfah, persilangan, teknik budidaya maupun analisis kandungan bahan dalam bengkuang masih sangat terbatas. Oleh karena itu diperlukan penelitian mengenai respon bengkuang hasil persilangan intraspesifik dan interspesifik yang diberi perlakuan pemangkasan sink-reproduktif terhadap daya hasil pendahuluan serta seleksi kandungan yaitu asam α-hidroksi dan pati.</p>
<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan seleksi bengkuang hasil persilangan intraspesifik dan interspesifik untuk bahan kosmetika (asam α-hidroksi tinggi) dan bahan kering ubi tinggi (terkait ekstraksi pati). Secara simultan akan diuji pula pengaruh dari pemangkasan sink-reproduktif terhadap karakter hasil dan kualitas ubi. Tahapan percobaan meliputi uji interaksi genotipe x lingkungan serta pengaruh perlakuan pemangkasan reproduktif serta seleksi genotip bengkuang hasil persilangan intraspesifik dan interspesifik. Dilanjutkan dengan pengujian karakter kualitas ubi untuk kadar kandungan asam α-hidroksi menggunakan metode High Performance Liquid Cromatography (HPLC) dan Pengujian kadar pati dengan Metode AOAC.</p>
<p>Keluaran yang ditargetkan berupa varietas baru bengkuang dengan kandungan asam α-hidroksi dan pati yang tinggi, serta thesis dan skripsi, publikasi di jurnal terakreditasi respon genotip bengkuang terhadap pemangkasan sink-reproduktif untuk karakter hasil dan kualitas hasil ubi.</p>

<p>Kedelai hitam merupakan tanaman yang memiliki peranan penting di Indonesia. Namun demikian, jumlah varietas unggul kedelai hitam di Indonesia lebih terbatas dibandingkan dengan kedelai kuning. Keterbatasan ini diduga akibat sempitnya keragaman genetik, untuk itu perlu dilakukan penelitian mengenai hubungan kekerabatan 10 varietas lokal kedelai hitam yang tersebar di pulau Jawa berdasarkan karakter agronomi. Percobaan lapang dilakukan di kebun percobaan fakultas pertanian Unpad selama bulan Mei sampai dengan Agustus 2009. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak kelompok dalam 3 ulangan dengan perlakuan 10 varietas kedelai hitam. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa dari 10 varietas lokal yang diuji 8 varietas memiliki kekerabatan genetik yang dekat yang diduga masih satu keturunan, sedangkan 2 varietas lainnya yaitu lokal Kebumen dan lokal Gombong merupakan varietas terpisah walau masih berkerabat dekat. Namun demikian data dalam penelitian ini masih perlu didukung dengan data karakter lainnya pada penelitian lanjutan, agar diperoleh akurasi data kekerabatan yang lebih tinggi.</p>

<p>Anggrek macan (<em>Grammatophyllum </em>sp.) merupakan anggrek endemik Indonesia yang perlu diteliti dan dikembangkan. Secara habitat anggrek macan dapat tumbuh di hutan dataran rendah yang tersebar di Jawa Barat bagian Selatan. Namun pertambahan jumlah manusia, perambahan hutan, alih fungsi hutan untuk tujuan pertanian, industri dan pertambangan dapat mengakibatkan berkurangnya jumlah populasi di alam. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan langkah strategis dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahun dan kegunaannya untuk tujuan komersial.</p>
<p>Langkah penelitian yang dapat dilakukan adalah: 1) memperoleh koleksi 2 Gene Pool anggrek macan yaitu <em>Grammatophyllum speciosum</em> Bl., Bijdr. dan <em>Grammatophyllum stapeliiflorum</em> J.J.Sm. masing-masing 15 aksesi asal Jawa Barat bagian Selatan sebagai bahan penelitian; 2) mengetahui populasi dan habitat penyebarannya di alam untuk tujuan konservasi ex situ; 3) memperoleh deskripsi berupa karakter morfo-agronomi dan karakter genetik melalui marka molekuler SSR; dan 4) memperoleh progeni baru dari hasil pemuliaan tanaman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey dengan melakukan eksplorasi plasma nutfah untuk memperoleh 30 aksesi anggrek macan. Kegiatan eksplorasi dengan mensurvey daerah dapat memperoleh data seperti: data penyebaran lokasi, ketinggian tempat, data habitat berupa ekosistem, data ekologi dan kegunaan atau informasi etnobotanis. Evaluasi karakter morfo-agronomi dan program pemuliaan dengan hibridisasi sehingga menghasilkan progeni baru dari anggrek macan akan dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Unpad unit Sukabumi (LC Nursery). Sedangkan untuk uji marka molekuler SSR akan dilakukan di Laboratorium Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bioteknologi dan Sumber Daya Genetik Pertanian (BB-Biogen) Bogor.</p>
<p>Diharapkan dari penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai informasi keragaman genetik plasma nutfah anggrek macan <em>Grammatophyllum speciosum</em> Bl., Bijdr. dan <em>Grammatophyllum stapeliiflorum</em> J.J.Sm. asal Jawa Barat bagian Selatan, berdasarkan karakter morfo-agronomi dan marka molekuler. Diperoleh informasi kekerabatan dan program pengembangan anggrek macan selanjutnya. Dari penelitian ini dihasilkan pula jurnal publikasi ilmiah untuk seminar nasional dan internasional. Selain itu dapat turut mendukung program pemerintah terutama Departemen Pertanian Republik Indonesia dalam upaya menghasilkan bibit unggul anggrek. Sehingga dapat dibudidayakan oleh para petani anggrek Indonesia tanpa tergantung dengan import anggrek.</p>
